Afroyap (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the Afroyap mobile application (the “App”).

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our App.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information:

When you create an account, we collect your username and password (stored securely in encrypted form). We do not currently require email addresses or phone numbers to create an account. User-Generated Content: We collect and store content you create within the App, including posts (“Yaps”), profile information, community interactions, and virtual currency balances (Gold).

Usage Information:

We may collect limited technical information such as device type, app version, and basic usage logs for stability and debugging.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to create and manage your account, provide app functionality, enable community interaction, maintain platform safety, detect misuse, and improve performance.

3. Virtual Currency (Gold)

Afroyap includes a virtual in-app currency called “Gold.” Gold has no real-world monetary value, cannot be redeemed for cash, and is used solely within the App. In this version of the App, Gold is not purchased using real money.

4. Data Storage and Security

We use secure backend services (such as Firebase) to store application data. We implement reasonable technical safeguards to protect user information. However, no system can be guaranteed 100% secure.

5. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers who help operate the App, if required by law, or to enforce our terms and protect user safety.

6. User-Generated Content and Community Safety

Content you post may be visible to other users. We may review, remove, or restrict content that violates community standards or applicable laws. Users may report inappropriate content.

7. Data Retention

We retain user information as long as your account remains active or as necessary to provide services and comply with legal obligations.

8. Account Deletion

Users may delete their account within the App. Upon deletion, associated user-generated content is removed from the platform, subject to technical and legal limitations.

9. Children’s Privacy

Afroyap is intended for users aged 17 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 17.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the App after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
